I have some complaints with Kallyas page builder; I’ve been working on a kallyas-based site for a month now so I’m not completely sure of what I’m talking about.
Also this is my first post here and I hadn’t time to inquire my doubts, so be patient with me.
Most important: everything I write with the page builder seems to get lost if I switch to another theme. Seems to me that kallyas page builder saves data in non standard tables. Is it true? Is there a workaround? Could it be fixed in the new version?
Three linked important things:
-kallyas is not safe for moving directory.
That is if I move a live wordpress to another directory or to another domain Kallyas reacts bad. This might be common with some templates but it’s still undesireable.
-links to images put with pagebuilder contain absolute paths like
this of course is one of tha causes of point above but it’s not the only one
-code written in the page builder (as opposed to the “normal” content of wordpress editor) doesn’t get filtered by wordpress and shortcodes don’t work
eg: I picked up a shortcode somewhere that enables me to write
[image 1234 small]
and have a correctly formed deployed only specifying the id of the image
In this mode the image will always work no matter if I move directory/domain/rename the image.
This can’t be done right now with kallyas page builder.
This is fundamental with bigger than tiny projects, when you have e develop version for the developers, a test version for the customer, and of course a live production version (on the same or different domains).
Please let me know if I got something wrong, if there’s a workaround of some sort, and consider a feature request for the upcoming release.
