I have just a quick question as to what the purpose of this string of code is on every page?<!– Start Facebook Like Open Graph Tags –><meta property=”og:title” content=”AMMON Template” /><meta property=”og:type” content=”website” /><meta property=”og:url” content=”http://hogash.com/ammon_html/” /><meta property=”og:image” content=”http://hogash.com/ammon_html/images/logo-black.png” /><meta property=”og:site_name” content=”AMMON Template” /><meta property=”fb:admins” content=”1368503320″ /><!– END Facebook Like Open Graph Tags –></head>November 29, 2011 at 3:31 am #49889
Hi Matthew,These tags are created for the Facebook Like Button to have more info on what it likes. For example, if someone likes your website, on his wall will appear your website. But sometimes on their wall, a strange image would’ve appeared, like a random image from your website, like the facebook like didn’t knew what image to display so it took a random image. For example the og:image tag comes here in handy. It says to the like button what image to appear on the “liker’s wall”. Also all that other meta tags are same info for the like button. You can find more documentation here https://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/Don’t forget to edit with your own data!!Hope this helps understanding 🙂MariusNovember 29, 2011 at 6:59 pm #49913
Hi again, Marius! Thanks for the explanation…very simple, haha. Thanks!I tested the Facebook like button from your AMMON template site and posted a FB comment to my facebook, I also tried clicking the like button and posting a comment from my page that I created for my site: http://www.inhomecarewisconsin.com/our_home_care_services.htmland when I checked my Facebook, the other meta properties info would show up on my Facebook post like the og:title and og:url, but the og:image does not show up on my Facebook post when I check my profile, either from your AMMON template or the post from my home care services page.November 30, 2011 at 4:37 am #49932
Hmm,Matthew, could you try to have a check of the url with this facebook tool https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debugThis will refresh the data of the url. Perhaps some data are still in cache so it may be normal. Please let me know ok?Have a really great day,MariusFebruary 15, 2013 at 5:16 pm #58128
First, many thanks for another great work 🙂
Please help me on this.
I have checked url http://www.quintadohespanhol.pt/casamentos.html on https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug … and it is ok.
My page code <meta properties> is ok too but when i press the like button I still get title “home” and english flag image on facebook activity !
Is this some kind of cache problem ?
Thanks in advance.February 17, 2014 at 4:11 pm #147049
