Hello,I’ve been working on our site for the past couple of weeks now and there are three things which i’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out. They are as follows:1. We are using the sortable portfolio however none of the images are showing. Instead of getting the image we get a place-holder, which you can press and you do get the full version in a popup window. However it appears that Timthumb isn’t doing anything. I’ve checked with my host and the GD Library is installed and they haven’t barred Timthumb. I’ve made all of the images smaller (down to 800×600) but that hasn’t made any difference. I’ve also changed the permissions on the cache folder and the folder that timthumb.php sits in, both to 777, but that hasn’t done anything either. Can you think of anything else I can try to get the thumbnails to work? I’ve got all the portfolios loaded and the image files linked, just need to be able to see them.2. The Twitter and Facebook module that sit on the right-hand side of the screen and pop open the last couple of tweets etc. I have turned off the Facebook section of that module but still want to use the Twitter feed. I’ve put in our Twitter account details but it isn’t updating at all. When you click on the Twitter icon it brings up the default twitter feed, ‘Weekly Inspiration http://t.co/ccqEmPE0‘ from 11 months ago. Is there somewhere that I need to change a setting so that we see our twitter feed and not this?3. With the tags, is there a way of adding a phone number to that? There is an option for email address, facebook etc, but I need to add our mobile phone numbers to that section. I couldn’t find any information on the [code] shortcodes in the guide. Please let me know if you require any further information or want login details or anything like that.Cheers, Al

Hi Al,1. Maybe is a path (relative/absolute) issue. I need to create a Super Admin for me (use PM – private message or my email: email@example.com for privacy) to can take a closer look.2. Same here, I need a Super Admin account.3. I need to know where do you need to add this mobile number. The shortcodes must be used in content. The file to be modified is this one../templates/ekho/custom/shortcodes.phpCheers,DanielMay 14, 2013 at 2:55 pm #65751This reply has been marked as private.May 16, 2013 at 2:02 pm #66153

Thank you for getting back with the details. I had a look over your website and tried making several tweaks however i couldn’t find a solution for the timthumb and most likely it’s a server incompatibility, to be honest it’s the first time this happens and unfortunately i don’t know what advice to give you on this one. Could you run some tests on other servers?
Fixed the twitter api link which had the feed problem.
Hope you have a great day!

Thanks for that Marius. Is there any point in me asking questions of the Tinythumb developers or do you think its definitely a server issue?May 22, 2013 at 3:04 pm #66892

*edit* i solved the thumbnail problem. i changed the timthumb.php file on my server with the timthumb.php file from the quickstart package.
and in timthumb-config.php i changed line 3 to define (‘FILE_CACHE_DIRECTORY’, ’’); (this solved the error in “about us”)
