Hi,Can you explain a method to rename the template from kallyas to ‘xxx’.On other non-hogash templates I use coda to find and replace instances of the template name and replace them with my desired name. Then install the template. This method has not worked on the Kallyas template, returning ‘The template for this display is not available. Please contact a Site administrator.’ on the site front end, and then if you log into the back end, go to Extenstions – Template Manager, and select the renamed template I get a ‘ Error loading form file’Any help is greatly appreciated, the find and replace was applied to all of the database sql files aswell as site files? The site is on localhost at the moment and it is a Joomla 3.x install.April 10, 2013 at 2:02 pm #62351
To change the name of the template, better option is to choose first tpl_kallyas.zip you have it in the package. You may see the standalone folder, inside you’ll find only the template zip file. You proceed exactly as any other template. After changing the name, for tpl_yourtemplatename.zip, just install it as any other template.See the xml file from kallyas.Regards,DanielApril 10, 2013 at 2:24 pm #62357StuartsmithdesignMember
Thanks for your response Daniel.I have renamed the content within the package and the language file and it has successfully updated the template when uploaded to the test site, a few issues with some of the dynamic modules looking for the original template name but I think that is just because I need to rename the template in the other zip files in the package, but thankyou for the guidance.
Just as an additional note, if the template were to be updated by Hogash, would the update files have to be scanned each time to change the name.April 10, 2013 at 4:17 pm #62360
All updates (future ones) should be done by overwriting via FTP the old ones that are not working.Single update already done yesterday, was done for a virtuemart module. But at time you are using Joomla! 3.0, there is not a need for you, because virtuemart is not yet J!3.x ready.May I ask you something, between Joomla! guys? What is the advantages (for Kallyas) for using J!3.0 (STS) instead of J!2.5 (LTS)?Regards,DanielApril 21, 2013 at 7:34 am #63304imperiaParticipantPost count: 4
First its a great template – congratulations!!
I want to rename the templatename. Only renaming the ZIP-File and installing over extensions is not working.
1. I`’ve made a new folder in templates “newname” copy all from kallyas folder in the new folder
2. I’ve set the new name in the templateDetails.xml and paths in the templateDetails.xml
3. I’ve renamed the language/en-GB.tpl_kallyas.ini to language/en-GB.tpl_newname.ini
In Bakend set new template as standard. Now the new template appears, all works, but the Navigation and the logo don’t appears.
What is wrong?
Thank you for help! (sorry, my english is not so good)April 21, 2013 at 8:53 am #63311Thank you for your nice words. You cannot only rename the template zip file, you must do all changes in templateDetails.xml, where you have all paths
The navigation will appear I think if you’ll use to add some items to menu, also the logo must be loaded in templates manager : kallyas (or your new named template). You tried to add the logo and is not working? The template must be set as default, not standard.Regards,DanielApril 22, 2013 at 3:51 am #63339imperiaParticipantPost count: 4
Tanks Daniel for answer.
In the menu settings there was footer-menu as default. I made main-menu as default and uploaded the logo.png and all works fine.
Once again, very great template, one of the best Joomla’s I’ve ever seen. Congratulations 🙂
