On our site directivestudios.com we had pages setup with full video backgrounds. Recently they just stopped working so a member of our team changed this to simply have videos in articles rather then the full video background. We have since attempted to change the video modules so that they display the videos in the background but its still not work. We setup two test pages listed below.
http://www.directivestudios.com/erosion-test
using – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3qG-gHj9yYhttp://www.directivestudios.com/oneonta-test
using – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgjgNAKQecAViewing the console on both pages it appears the issue is Google / Youtube API change as noted here:
Screen Shot: http://prntscr.com/8lht9f
Error Key:
GET http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/videos/rgjgNAKQecA?v=2&alt=jsonc
Listed Error Message:
{“apiVersion”:”2.1″,”error”:{“code”:410,”message”:”No longer available”,”errors”:[{“domain”:”GData”,”code”
:”NoLongerAvailableException”,”internalReason”:”No longer available”}]}}What can be done to update the API so this module will work. Is there an update to this module or code that can be applied to correct the problem.

September 29, 2015 at 12:59 am #203978Hello,
Please backup all files+database
Try to download and install https://www.dropbox.com/s/2giwwt3r1hgokgc/mod_ekho_background.zip?dl=0
It should make automatic upgrade and please tell me if is ok.September 29, 2015 at 4:13 pm #204141That did work and the videos from youtube are now playing however we have a few new issues appearing after this change.
See video pages here:
1- http://www.directivestudios.com/erosion-in-4k-arial.html
2- http://www.directivestudios.com/oneonta-aerial.html1- http://prntscr.com/8lstcv
the videos are appearing with this black border at the top. To resolve this I had to manually code: .ytplayer-container iframe.ytplayer-player
with a scale of: transform: scale(1.4) !important; but this just zoomed the video and cut off the bottom so I removed that.Shouldn’t the video have equal proportions top and bottom considering its a 1920×1080 video on that same size screen? Or is this because the original source video was shot in wide screen and displays this way on youtube? Just looking for confirmation on this point.
2- Player controls: http://prntscr.com/8lt4gc
The videos used to have player controls embedded in the top right, after installing the new module the payer controls are gone despite the option for the player controls being enabled in the admin of the site. Can we get them back please? We appreciate your help on this matter.
September 29, 2015 at 4:23 pm #204146Hello,
This is another version of that module because first one was old . Youtube has changed his api and i made another one to works with youtube.
This is from youtube (video scale)
In new version we removed player’s control.September 29, 2015 at 4:55 pm #204153Is there anyway we can get the play controls back? We really need that feature. Is this something that you plan on doing in a future update?
